Megan Mallamas

Megan Mallamas grew up in Hayesville, North Carolina, a small rural town on the border of North Carolina and Georgia. As the middle child of three, from a young age Megan assumed the role of “peace maker” between her siblings, becoming skilled at negotiating deals while holding her own as the middle child.

Megan attended college at North Carolina State University, where she majored in Criminology and minored in Political Science. Megan engaged in several internships in the legal field during college, sparking her interest in the law and inspiring her to become a lawyer. Megan soon determined that she would attend law school. Megan graduated from N.C. State summa cum laude (with highest distinction) in 2017 and went on to attend law school at Campbell University, in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina.

During law school, Megan quickly became interested legal research and writing. She was honored to be invited to join the Campbell Law Review after her first year of law school, where she had the distinction of serving as a student comment editor, as well as having her own law review article published in 2019. Megan achieved the highest grades of her law school section in two of her legal writing courses, receiving two Book awards. In addition to her excellent classwork, Megan served as a Criminal Law teaching scholar, an Associate Justice on the Honor Court, and a co-founder of the Disability Rights Association.

Megan graduated law school cum laude (with distinction) and passed the North Carolina bar exam in July of 2020 amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. In the fall of 2020, Megan joined Montgomery Family Law.

Megan is a licensed member of the North Carolina State Bar and is a member of the Family Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association. She is also a member of the Tenth Judicial District Bar for Wake County and the Wake County Bar Association.

In her free time, Megan enjoys traveling back to the mountains that raised her to hike, river kayak, and reunite with family. While at home in Raleigh, she enjoys spending time with her partner, Matthew, and their cats, Louis and Georgie.
